Treatment Duration

Why are initial appointments so long?

Your first appointment is longer in duration as it must include a full discussion of your health history, even if certain aspects seem unrelated to your current concerns, as well as a full assessment and treatment. This process can take from 45 minutes to 1 hour to complete.

Can my follow-up appointments be longer?

Graduates of the CAO undergo four years of training so that they can structurally diagnose and treat effectively and efficiently. From an osteopathic perspective, less is more, so sometimes longer treatments can actually be counterproductive. For this reason, Tana's treatments are typically 25 minutes in length.

How long should I continue treatment?

How long you wish to continue treatment for is always up to you, but Tana's goal is to restore your body's natural self-healing and self-regulating mechanisms. This means if that if treatments are effective, then they will become less frequent over time and you will be enjoying your restored health more often!
